Alumni Men's Basketball Game

Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 11:00am

Draddy Gym 4513 Manhattan College Pkwy., Bronx, NY 10471

The Manhattan men's basketball alumni game will take place prior to the Jaspers' contest with Marist (scheduled for 2 p.m.)

More than 30 Manhattan basketball alumni will take part in the game, including Jasper greats from the last four decades. Former basketball players interested in participating may contact Russ Williams '92 at

A reception, sponsored by the Jasper Athletic Club, will be held following the alumni game, at 12:30 p.m. To RSVP for the reception, please email Noah LeFevre at

During halftime of the game against Marist, Manhattan will hold a special recognition ceremony honoring Junius Kellogg '53, the first African-American basketball player to play for the College who exposed the infamous point shaving scandal of the late 1940's. Kellogg went on to play for the Harlem Globetrotters until an accident paralyzed him from the waist down, after which, he became one of the early leaders of wheelchair basketball, both as a player and coach. A plaque will be dedicated in Draddy Gymnasium to honor the late Jasper great.
